Earth Day and EPA@40 Celebration
EPA is having a huge celebration this weekend for the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and EPA on the National Mall between 4th and 7th Streets.
In addition to interactive, fun and educational exhibits related to environmental protection for children, there will also be a performance and speaker stage. EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson is scheduled to appear at the EPA Earth Day tent on Saturday between 12pm-2pm
Some fun exhibits you can see are:
The Carbon Wheel of Fortune, spin the wheel and learn ways you can reduce your carbon footprint.
“Thirstin” shows children the importance of protecting drinking water.
Show your kids the basics of a science experiment! We’ll use simple things like baking soda and rock salt to show how chemicals can interact.
